ABOUT Ignoble Grapes
We think wine is for everyone, and that the best wines out there are a little off the beaten path. We also think that learning about wine should be fun! We create tailored wine events focused on what you want to drink and learn. We're sisters, and as sisters do, we grew up sharing everything, including a passion for wine, food, hospitality, and hosting friends in our homes. About a decade ago, we started learning as much as we could on our own; books, classes, tastings, and traveling to wine regions laid a strong foundation for us, but we decided to pursue a more formal education with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust and both have a Level 3 Advanced Award and are currently pursuing Italian Wine Scholar and French Wine Scholar certifications with the Wine Scholar Guild. The more we learn about wine (and the learning is endless!), the more we appreciate the wonderful diversity of the world of wine, and the more we love the lesser-known winemaking regions, forgotten and often maligned grape varieties, and just generally, going beyond the so-called "noble grapes" to find great wines.

About Sarah + Anna
Sarah is, above all else, a teacher. With 15 years of education experience, she’s an expert at breaking things down and making information stick. This sets our classes apart - we want you to have a damn good time, but also walk away with some concrete knowledge and skills that you can apply to your next experience with wine. Even better, she hopes to spark a lifelong pursuit of more wine knowledge and to bring you along on her crazy wine journey. When Sarah isn’t drinking/talking about/thinking about wine, she’s teaching kids, teachers, and leaders at a New York City charter school network.
Anna is a buyer for a global fashion retailer. When she’s not at the office, figuring out the next best fashion trend, she’s exploring wine shops/restaurants across the metro area doing exactly the same - figuring out what’s new in food and wine and how she can share that with those around her. Alongside her passion for learning all-things-wine, she brings 10 years of hospitality experience to the table. Hosting events is her forte, and believes there’s nothing better than building memories around shared experiences with food and wine.
